Open Positions

Position: Director of Actuarial Services
Location: Home Office, Lincoln, NE
General Function: Persons employed in this position are responsible for, but not limited to, design and development of methods and procedures to collect, analyze, and interpret statistical data relating to product pricing and design; and loss reserving analysis.
Duties & Responsibilities: Gather, analyze and compare competitor data and pricing to that organization.
Maintain market intelligence database and uses computer to examine, analyze and compile statistical data.
Analyze company’s product results and research market conditions and product feasibility studies to determine market demand for existing and new products or coverages.
Establish research methods, such as surveys or questionnaires as a means for collecting data for each project.
Analyze current research and statistical techniques and their effectiveness in highlighting coverage profitability and price adequacy.
Assist in the development of market research objective to help the organization meet its strategic goals.
Assist in the gathering and analysis of loss reserving and of loss frequency and severity information.
Assist in the preparation of rate filing to the State Insurance Department.
Prepare reports, including charts and graphs, and present recommendations for action plans to management.
Qualifications: Four-year college degree with major in mathematics or actuarial science required.
Two or more years experience with insurance company or related area of a State Insurance Department.
Familiarity with mainframe data processing terminology and capabilities of equipment needed.
Proficient in Microsoft programs and various analytical software is required.
Property and Casualty Insurance courses helpful.
