Auto
As one of the leading auto insurance writers in the Midwest, Farmers Mutual of Nebraska knows the importance you place on having complete coverage for all of your auto insurance needs.
Our auto policy can provide you with protection against damages for which you are liable; reimburse you for the cost of repairing your auto when it is damaged due to vandalism, theft, or accident; cover your medical expenses associated with an accident; and pay for legal representation in case of a lawsuit against you. Farmers Mutual's policies are only available through independent agents in Nebraska and South Dakota. Contact your local Farmers Mutual agent for more information on insuring your autos. He or she can work with you to determine the best coverages, deductibles, liability limits and so forth to suit your needs. This is a summary of available coverages and is not intended to represent or substitute for policy conditions. The policy alone determines the scope of the coverage provided. Always read your policy carefully and if you have any questions about your coverage, contact your agent. We offer coverage for a wide variety of vehicles, including private passenger autos, motorcycles, pickup trucks and vans, farm trucks, antique and classic cars, and motor homes. Coverage can be extended to your use of non-owned vehicles or newly acquired vehicles. The following coverages are available:
Liability Coverage
This coverage protects you if you are legally responsible for injury to others, or if you cause damage to their property, as a result of an accident involving your auto. It also protects your spouse and relatives living in your household, and anyone else who is driving your car with your permission. This coverage can also protect you while you are using a car you do not own (for example, a friend's car or a rental car).
In addition to paying any settlements or judgments up to the policy limits you have selected, we will provide you with a defense to any lawsuit arising out of a covered auto accident. We will also pay most other costs associated with investigating and settling claims against you.
Medical Payments Coverage
This coverage pays medical and funeral expenses for you, your spouse and relatives living in your household, and others who are injured by an accident while occupying your auto. You and your resident family members are also covered as pedestrians should you be struck and injured by an auto.
You will be paid regardless of who is at fault for the accident, up to the limit of coverage you select. The coverage extends to expenses incurred within three years of the accident.
Physical Damage Coverage
This coverage pays for physical losses to your auto. It may also pays for losses to certain other vehicles while in your possession, such as rental cars.
Collision Coverage This coverage pays for loss to your auto when it hits or is upset or hit by a vehicle or other object. We will pay for the amount of the loss in excess of your deductible. Comprehensive Coverage This coverage pays for physical losses to your auto other than those caused by collision. Comprehensive coverage pays for breakage of glass, and loss due to falling objects, fire, theft, larceny, explosion, earthquake, windstorm, hail, water, flood, malicious mischief or vandalism, riot or civil commotion, and hitting a bird or animal. We will pay for the amount of the loss in excess of your deductible.
Uninsured and Underinsured Motor Vehicle Coverage
Uninsured
This coverage pays for damages for bodily injury that you are legally entitled to recover from the owner or operator of an uninsured motor vehicle, up to the limits of coverage you have chosen. Coverage also extends to your spouse or relative living with you, or other persons occupying your auto. Underinsured This coverage pays for damages for bodily injury you are legally entitled to recover from the owner or operator of an underinsured motor vehicle. A vehicle is underinsured if the limits of liability coverage on that auto are not adequate to compensate you fully. Our obligation to pay, and the amount of your coverage that is available to you in an accident, is determined by state law. Check with your agent about how this coverage works in your area. |
